| 1. The autoloader fails to print on the attached printer. How do I fix the problem? |
|
Please refer to the Printer Diagnostics for the Standalone (SA) model PDF for detailed instructions
or to Printer Diagnostics for the PC Inside (PCI) model PDF for detailed instructions on how to troubleshoot.

| 2. We recently installed a different printer. We are trying to use our PRN file to print our labels but it no longer will work. What is wrong? |
|
The PRN files are unique to each type of printer. A PRN file that was created for a Primera Signature IV will not work on a Primera Signature Pro printer or on a Primera Z6 printer, it will only work on another Signature IV printer. You will have to resave all your label files using the printer drivers you now have installed. A PRN file is created when you use the PRINT TO FILE option.

| 3. The DiscMultiplier places a disc in the printer and closes the tray, but does not print. The Padus DiscJuggler progress bar only goes to 50%. What is wrong? |
|
This
can occur when the printer can not read the PRN file you provided.
Recreate the “PRN” file and try printing again. Use another test image
to verify the integrity of the printing operation. Ensure you place
this PRN file in the “Good label” field in the DiscJuggler software.
Refer to your Users Manual. You may use Windows Test print (Settings/Printers/Properties) to test the actual printing capability from the PC. If you still have problems, contact Technical Support.

| 4. How do I get the DiscMultiplier to automatically print my labels? (How do I link a print image to my duplication job?) |
|
The
SureThing Labeler program that came with your printer has
procedures in its help library to create a “PRN” file from your label
image. Once a PRN file is created, you simply add the name of the file
to the “Good Label” field in the Padus DiscJuggler software. See your
DiscMultiplier manual for a more detailed explanation.

| 6. The arm picks up two discs from the stack instead of one. Why? How can I fix this? |
|
Certain
brands of media stick together causing the autoloader to pick
up two discs. Using satin finished or printable media will help prevent
this from occurring. You can also fan the stack of media in the input
bins to reduce this sticking effect. Once you fan them, be sure the
media is aligned and centered within their respective bins.

| 7. The unit seems to have an excessive amount of problems picking up and transferring discs. |
|
Proper
location of your DiscMultiplier is important. The DiscMultiplier series
uses optical sensors that function on reflective light to tell the
robot when a CD is picked up, released, or comes in contact with a CD
writer tray. Too much light may cause errors. To avoid errors, do not
place the DiscMultiplier in a brightly lit area or in direct sunlight.
If you still have problems, contact Technical
Support.

| 8. The robotic arm is out of alignment, how can I calibrate or re-align the arm? |
|
For PC-Inside (PCI) models, please refer to the Quick Reference PCI Calibration Procedure PDF for detailed instructions on how to calibrate the robot. For StandAlone (SA) models, please refer to the Calibration for SA Procedure PDF for detailed instructions on how to calibrate the robot. Go to top |
| 9. I reinstalled Padus DiscJuggler and now the DiscMultiplier appears to burn discs, but there is nothing written to them. What is wrong? |
|
It
is important that you uninstall Padus before reinstalling it. Verify
that you have entered your Padus DiscJuggler key code correctly.
Click the DiscJuggler Help menu and select Register DiscJuggler.
When the software is not registered, it will perform in a pseudo write
mode, going through the proper motions of a writing session, but will
not actually burn any data to them.

|
Refer
to Operating System Setup Tips in your DiscJuggler Users
manual.

| 12. My Plextor drives have orange and green lights flashing at intermittent times. Is this a problem? |
|
The
writers’ buffer-underrun protection is activating. The orange
lights indicate the drive is writing, while the green indicates
burn-protection is in action. The flashing green and orange lights on
the drives are a typical sign that your media may not be fast enough to
keep up with the rated speed of the writers. Verify your media type and
certified speed rating. Too slow of a rated media will cause the
burn-proof system to activate. You can also try slowing down the
recording speed or switching to another brand of media. Contact
Technical Support if the problem persists.
