Upgrade and Repair notes for New Hawk Autoloader Robotics.
When an autoloader has been upgraded with the new Hawk robotics that include new motors and control board there are some changes. Besides being much faster, it may also have other slight differences. Upon power off, the robot arm may slowly slide down the rods when it relaxes. It should return to home upon a few seconds after power on as before.
When placing and picking discs in the drive trays a slight buzzing noise that occurs is normal as the motors change speeds. The only maintenance would be to clean and lubricate the two steel rods on which the gripper sled slides up and down perhaps twice a year or if binding or noise occurs. Use a light machine oil such as 3 in1 oil tm.
We have included instructions and new procedures for calibration. Occasionally after a unit is shipped calibration may need to be adjusted. The HyperTerminal Basics instructions and the new precision calibration procedures may be used to fine tune the robot with ¼ micro steps. Be sure to power cycle the loader before starting DiscJuggler.
A new level of DiscJuggler may have been provided which should provide better DVD burns. Some difference exists, mainly in the Tools/Options tabs.
We also recommend that the PC be put online at least briefly to update Windows
and install Adobe PDF reader.
If new drives are installed, DVD burning will be noticeably faster.
